[1.8.1]Scrolling far upwards in the text box makes it impossible to scroll back down

Using touchpad to scroll upwards in the text box to view past messages makes it impossible to scroll back down again once past a certain distance "above" the first text that was stored. Scroll too far up and then attempting to scroll back down again does nothing. New text being generated still does not refocus it, so a restart is required to be able to see text log.

(touchpad might be distinct from mousewheels in that it is a swipe motion that seems unbounded in how far it will try to scroll with one motion)

Hmm strange, I am unable to reproduce this.

The message log history should reset to the latest message everytime something new happens.
