Starving and Teleporting

Post by Max » Sat Oct 12, 2019 10:07 am

Yeah, so I noticed that starving does not actually kill you.
Not ever when your like -1000 down or more. It’s still only doing 1 damage a turn and when you’re healing faster then this with more then 100 life...
you can just let it go, don’t ever worry about it.

I set up a character with just this in mind.
Gluttony, Vegetarian, Poverty, no merchants for food, no magic apples or refresh.
What I had was Goddess Of Healing (one free full healing per level), so just make it to the end in time and heal it all back.

To get to the end in time I used Crystal Mage + teleport + god of magic for one free teleport per level.

Just today I found out that I could zoom out with the mouse wheel and then use teleport.
Adding true sight and it seems teleport has no maximum range. It’s just wherever you can get your mouse to.
And so now I could get from one level to the next level in 1 turn, at no cost, and without taking a step.

Most levels it was not actually this easy, but still pretty easy like 4 or 5 turns.

I really feel that both Starving and Teleporting need to be reworked somehow.

In the old Lost Labyrinth the damage per turn used to scale according to the hunger/dehydration you had, something like:

Code: Select all

0 hunger - 1 damage per turn
-100 hunger - 2 damage per turn
-200 hunger - 4 damage per turn
-300 hunger - 8 damage per turn
etc.
Teleport could be perhaps resticted to 3 tiles + 1 tile per 8 Spell Power or something like that? Limiting the max zoom out would also be a good idea I think.

Please don't.
I was having a great time using the max zoom out with mass confusion.
Zoomed in the camera keeps jumping about and is just annoying
Same thing zoomed out and it's freaking hilarious!
(monsters death gazing each other etc  )
Zooming out is also much better for arcane storm and other spells to, it's not more powerful but it's lots more fun.
Teleporting, on the over hand, is getting more powerful us you zoom out.

I'm pretty sure I used

Code: Select all

1 + hunger / 20
Same formula as for poison with the difference that poison number would go down by the amount of damage taken and hunger / thirst would still go UP by one of course.

In original Lost Labyrinth it was 1 damage per turn until you hit 150 hunger, then it would become

Code: Select all

2 + ( hunger - 150 ) / 50
The numbers of life is not exactly equal in LabyDX however, since 1 LabyDX HP equals about 1.6 Lost Labyrinth HP (same with damage and mana).
